Finding Flattop

Mike was moved to ICU at 5ish and doing well. Doctor had an emergency soon after Mike so I didn’t get to talk to him but I was told by a nurse that I should be able to talk to him tomorrow morning. Mike’s surgery went very well and they are hoping to remove tube sometime this evening. ICU unit don’t want any visitors tonight so wait until after tomorrow to see how things are going. I will be visiting at 8 am and will be posting his status. Thank you all for the support and prayers…

Mike is still in the OR as of 3:58 pm and is doing fine. Surgery is taking longer than planned because they are using arteries vs vein and arteries take longer to take down.

After the bump from Monday,  Mike was picked up at 6:25 this morning and went inot operating room at 7:35. Surgery supposed to take 4 to 6 hours.

It appears today’s surgery schedule should be on! So, if you want to visit me in the ICU or later this week while I’m in recovery, here are the rules.

1. If you have a cough, cold, sneeze, runny nose, even if you think you’re over it and not contagious, DON’T COME. Would love to see everyone, but can’t risk a minor infection.
2. Before you see me, sanitize yourself. Wash you hands or use hand sanitizer.

Don’t know what the complication was with the other patient this morning, but glad I didn’t follow an all day panic after something had went wrong. I am scheduled to be the first surgery tomorrow Tues, October 22nd at approx 7:30am. If everything goes well, the surgery should take 4-6 hours. Ready to be out of here and done with all this.
